SAFE SCHOOLS INITIATIVE
A collaboration between OSAID, the OCS, and the LCBO’s Spirit of Sustainability is designed to empower student-led impact to reduce impaired driving.
PROPOSED PROJECT
OSAID Safe Roads School Grant is a student-driven grant opportunity to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 2026/27
OSAID, with the support of the OCS and the LCBO’s Spirit of Sustainability, is excited to kick off a new road safety grant program, offering $500 to 40 high schools across Ontario! This initiative aims to support student-led projects that raise awareness about driving safely, especially highlighting the risks of driving under the influence of cannabis and alcohol. In total, $20,000 will be distributed to high schools across the province. We're thrilled to see student leaders taking charge through creative campaigns, events, and initiatives that reflect OSAID’s mission to empower students to influence change in unsafe driving behaviours through awareness, peer engagement, and education for the next generation.
This grant aims to amplify student voices and leadership while supporting OSAID’s mission to prevent impaired driving and encourage healthy, informed choices among students. Funding will enable schools to act on what matters most to them — whether through campaigns, events, or awareness projects that reflect OSAID’s values.
By putting dollars directly into the hands of students, OSAID is doubling down on its core belief: students are not just the future — they are the now.
